Connect Knarr to Quickbooks Online simply and easily through OAuth 2.0
- Create a new data source connection
- Select Quickbooks Online from the dropdown list
- Click "link account"
- Enter your username and password
- Click "Sign In"
You will now be able to access your Quickbooks data directly in Knarr!
Knarr cannot write any data to your Quickbooks Online account, it can only read data.
NOTE If you are signing in with Google, you will still have to enter your password. This is a limitation in the Quickbooks OAuth2.0 API flow (you probably had to do the same when you logged into the mobile app). This should only be required once.
With the Quickbooks Online connection, you can access your account information, banking information, and customer information, including the following:
- The Account object
- Create an account
- Query an account
- Read an account
- Full update an account
For reference information about the Quickbooks online data schema, check out the Quickbooks API documentation here: https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/most-commonly-used/account
NOTE there are Quickbooks integrations that export data to CSVs or to other providers, such as Google Sheets or ExcelOnline. Sometimes, it can be easier to use these providers to export your data in the format you need it in rather than use the direct connection, especially if you're looking for a ledger-type format of expenses.
Additionally, your company may prevent you from directly loading data from Quickbooks, in which case you may need to request permission from your admin or export the data to a spreadsheet to import into Knarr.
